Initially a power yoga instructor, I've shifted gears toward gentler practices that support nervous system resilience and trauma healing. I still love a sweaty vinyasa class, and (not but) my experiences and interests have led me to yin, breathwork, slow flow, subtle yoga, and Yoga Nidra.
Slower moving practices might need more time on the stage to be seen and understood as undemanding and effective options, 'cause moving tenderly and kindly with ourselves takes us out of the hamster wheel of modern life and goes against what we're taught to value in our society.
While these practices have supported me in moving away from long worn pathways of ongoing hustle and burnout, you know what's best for you and your body. It's my wish to share these practices and advocate for you making your own decisions about what will serve you best from day to day and season to season.
Join us the last three Thursdays in March and April! This series will be a combo of what we used to call Healing or Slow Flow and Power Flow. I'll be making it beginner friendly, accessible to whomever is in the room, and the temp will be 74 or so. Not hot like we used to do, but pleasantly warm. You can expect a little time spent moving between cat and cow, sun salutations, balancing poses, lunges, and of course a nice dose of slow yin shapes toward the end.
